Donate to Harford CAA!

With your continued support, we can help ensure that the residents of Harford County, Maryland are provided for.

Thank you once more for your kindness and on behalf of all of us at the Harford Community Action Agency!

Another year has come and gone, and our agency has been able to assist a record number of individuals and families in our community specifically due to your continued contributions – whether they be donations of money, food, time or simply word of mouth sharing of our accomplishments.

With the temperatures beginning to dip, we are noticing more clients needing help with our Maryland Energy Assistance Program.

This year our agency worked with the Office of Home Energy Programs to help provide assistance to over 10,000 low-income households to help families stay warm, connected and help pay past due energy bills.

Unfortunately, over 400 households in Harford County, MD were not eligible for this much needed assistance due to income barriers. When looking at the data, many families were not eligible for assistance because they were over the income requirement by mere dollars – they still needed help, but we’re unable to apply for the program designed to help them.

Another barrier many families encountered was unemployment. Parameters for the grant are based on income from the previous year – if your household is now experiencing unemployment, it could be another year before you can apply for help.

When temperatures begin to fall in Harford County, this assistance can mean the difference between life and death for our neighbors.

With your continued support, we can help Harford County families make it through the winter.
