Baltimore extends contracts with hotels to house homeless residents through March

It was Martin Luther King Jr. who declared: “Let us march on poverty until no American parent has to skip a meal so that their children may eat.”

On Martin Luther King Day on Monday let’s remember that one of his dreams was ending hunger and poverty.

The basic right of food is essential for achieving freedom and equality for all people. That is why Dr. King, in his speech at the end of the Selma to Montgomery march in 1965, said “March on until no starved man walks the streets of our cities and towns in search of jobs that do not exist.”
