On a National Level, a disproportionate number of homeless youth identify as LGBT. 

• 1.6 Million to 2.8 Million:  The estimated number of homeless youth in the United States
• 20-40%:  The portion of the homeless youth population who are gay or transgender, compared to only 5 to 10% of the overall youth population
• 320,000 – 400,000:  A conservative estimate of the number of gay and transgender youth facing homelessness each year

While we do not specifically ask for sexual orientation during our own intake process, the national data is nearly overwhelming.
