The Maryland Energy Assistance Program provides assistance with winter fuel bills one time during the heating season. The income eligibility for MEAP is 175% of the federal poverty level.*

Clients who applied for MEAP during the last program year will automatically receive an application in the mail. The HCAA also has applications are available for local organizations and congregations to distribute to individuals and families in need.

What You Need to Apply:

  1. Copy of Applicant’s photo identification
  2. Proof of Residency
  3. Copies of Social Security cards for all household members
  4. Proof of your household’s total Gross income for the last 30 day period
  5. A copy of your most recent Utility bill or termination notice (if applicable)
  6. A copy of your most recent heating fuel bill or receipt (if applicable)
